Brainfish Auto-Discovery of Sessions and Knowledge Creation from Slack
1min read
Overview
This article describes how Brainfish automatically discovers sessions (recordings) and creates knowledge in the CMS, how sampling works, and how Slack conversations can be converted into knowledge base content.
Auto-Discovery of Sessions
Brainfish supports automatic discovery of sessions (recordings) without requiring manual use of the Discover button.
Behavior
- Brainfish automatically discovers a subset of sessions.
- Discovered sessions are then used to automatically create or update knowledge in the Brainfish CMS.
Sampling Configuration
To balance performance and cost, Brainfish uses sampling when auto-discovering sessions.
Default Sampling Rate
- Auto-discovery is enabled.
- Sampling is set to approximately 5% of sessions by default.
Adjusting the Sampling Rate
- The sampling rate can be adjusted by the Brainfish team if required.
- Changes to the sampling configuration are typically made to:
- Reduce cost and performance impact (lower sampling rate).
- Increase coverage of discovered sessions (higher sampling rate).
If you need a different sampling rate, contact the Brainfish support or product team to request an adjustment.
Creating Knowledge from Slack Threads
Brainfish can create suggested knowledge base content from Slack conversations.
Behavior in Slack
- When triggered on a Slack thread, Brainfish:
- Analyzes the thread content.
- Creates suggested updates to Brainfish articles based on the information in the thread.
- Marks these updates as pending review and approval in the Brainfish CMS.
Review and Approval
- Open the Brainfish CMS.
- Navigate to the area where suggested article updates are listed.
- Review the automatically generated suggestions.
- Approve, edit, or reject the proposed changes as appropriate.
Notes and Considerations
- Auto-discovery and knowledge creation are designed to minimize manual work while controlling cost and performance through sampling.
- Sampling levels are not self-service configurable in the UI at this time and must be adjusted by the Brainfish team.
- Automatically generated article updates should always be reviewed before publication to ensure accuracy and tone consistency.
