# Brainfish Integrations: Embed Apps in Articles and Sync External Data Sources

## Overview

Brainfish integrations let you:

* **Embed third-party content directly inside an article** (editor integrations).
* **Connect and sync external knowledge sources** into your Brainfish knowledge hub (data source integrations).

This article explains both integration types and how to use them.

## Types of Integrations in Brainfish

### 1) Editor integrations (embeds inside articles)

Use editor integrations to add rich, interactive content from third-party tools (for example: Airtable, ClickUp, Figma, Google Drive) directly into a Brainfish article.

### 2) External data source integrations (sync content into your knowledge hub)

Use data source integrations when you want Brainfish to **pull content from an external system** (for example: Confluence or Google Drive) and keep it updated via sync.

## Embed an Integration in an Article (Editor Integrations)


1. Open the article in the Brainfish editor.
2. Add an integration block using either method:
   * Type `/` to open the insert menu, **or**
   * Click the `+` button in the editor.
3. Select the desired integration from the list.
4. Follow any prompts to insert or link the external content.

## Connect and Sync an External Data Source


1. In Brainfish, open the **Knowledge** dashboard.
2. Select **Connect Data Source**.
3. Choose the integration you want to connect (for example, Confluence or Google Drive).
4. Enter the required credentials.
5. Configure sync settings (including enabling **Daily Sync** for automatic updates).
6. Click `+ Add Source`.

## Tips

* Use **editor integrations** when you want to enrich a single article with embedded content.
* Use **data source integrations** when you want Brainfish to continuously **sync and maintain** content from another system.
