# Can I Download Videos Recorded in the Brainfish Knowledge Platform?

## Overview

This article explains whether you can download or save videos that are recorded directly within the Brainfish knowledge platform.

## Problem

Users want to know if there is a way to download and save a video that they record directly within the Brainfish platform (for example, a video captured via a built-in recorder or content tool), so that it can be reused or stored outside of Brainfish.

## Answer

Currently, there is **no way to download or save a video after it has been recorded directly within the Brainfish knowledge platform**.

Brainfish supports embedding video content (such as MP4 files up to 500 MB) into articles, but the platform does not provide functionality to export or download videos that were recorded inside the product itself.

## Workarounds and Recommendations

* **Record locally first**: If you anticipate needing a copy of the video file, record the video using a local recording tool (for example, your operating system’s screen recorder or a third-party recording application), then upload the resulting MP4 to Brainfish.
* **Store source files externally**: Maintain original video files in your organization’s file storage (e.g., cloud drive or internal media repository) before or after uploading to Brainfish.

## Additional Information

* Supported uploaded video format: `MP4`
* Maximum supported video file size for uploads: `500 MB`

If Brainfish introduces video export or download capabilities in the future, update this article to reflect the new functionality and include any relevant steps to access and download recorded videos.
